Aqua Aerobics Blog
Below is my first Aqua Aerobics Blog. Hope you enjoy. As mentioned in previous blogs my personal training career didn’t start as well as I had hoped. Anyhow, I managed to regain some confidence and start again.
So, to cut to the chase, I had set up my one to one studio and this was going well. I gradually became more confident with the personal training and sports and body massage.
I had often thought about the Circuit Training qualification I had and how I hadn’t used it at all. This was frustrating for me . It had been a while since I had taught a fitness class so I was looking for a way to get back into teaching classes. I felt that I would need to attend a course to learn a new fitness class to build up my confidence. I booked myself on an aqua aerobics course in the LA Fitness centre in Bank, London. Never thought I’d be teaching aqua aerobics but while working for the local council facility, aqua proved very popular. So I thought I’d give it a try. Even before I had qualified as an aqua aerobics instructor I was ringing round the local leisure centres and asking if they had any space for another aqua instructor. It just so happened that I spoke to the person at Wombourne Leisure Centre who was responsilble for taking on instructors. Thankfully, she was looking for cover on the 6th of April 2008. I was offered the chance to take the aqua aerobics class, which I accepted. So, having qualified the week before I was going live in front of 40 women! I was nervous but I came through. I then had a regular slot teaching aqua aerobics at Wombourne. I loved teaching aqua . I was very pleased that I got mysekf qualified and plucked up the courage to teach in front of such a large audience.
Aqua is a great workout, not just for women. There is very little risk of injury due to the water supporting your body weight. Great for toning and cardiovascular improvement.
The more I taught the more confident I became. I was told though that my contract was up soon. So I decided that I believed in myself enough to start my own class. Circuit Training it was.
You can read about the circuit training in the circuits blog or under the classes section.
I still teach aqua aerobics occasionally at Wombourne. At the moment I have a regular slot teaching aqua aerobics at Codsall Leisure centre.
Thanks for reading
James
